Spaces and floorplans
Manage the spaces you schedule work into — on a visual floorplan, as a list, and organized into groups.
The Spaces page (“Manage spaces, floorplans and groups”) owns the physical side of your planning model. Three tabs, three views of the same catalog.
Floorplan
The default tab shows your site’s floorplan with each space drawn as a shape. Upload an image per site (Upload Floorplan Image — PNG or JPEG, up to 10 MB) and draw spaces directly onto it as rectangles or polygons; the canvas walks you through each shape (“Click to place first corner”, “Double-click to complete polygon”, “Press ESC to cancel”).
The floorplan is not decoration: the same geometry appears as a collapsible panel on the Utilization board, tying schedule rows to physical locations. The end-to-end walkthrough is Model your facility with floorplans.
Spaces
The list tab sorts and filters from its column headers, like every list in Orkyo — see Sorting and filtering lists.
The list view of every space, drawn or not. Open one to Edit Space:
- Code — a short identifier for dense boards.
- Name and Description.
- Capacity — how much the space holds; capacity violations surface as conflicts.
- Capabilities — the criteria this space satisfies, from your shared criteria vocabulary. This is what auto-scheduling and validation match requests against.
Groups
Groups cluster spaces by site, area, or function — Hall 1, Cleanrooms, Training rooms. Two reasons to use them:
- Navigation — large catalogs stay manageable when the board and dialogs can work group-by-group.
- Shared capabilities — a capability set on a group applies to its members, so Cleanroom certified lives once on the Cleanrooms group instead of on each room.
Import and export
With the Spaces page open, the top bar’s Export/Import act on spaces: “Export or import the list of spaces with their properties and capabilities” (CSV). Handy for initial loading from an existing facility list — see Import and export.
